Alberta Culture Days is a three-day celebration of arts and culture in communities across the province. Head down to Suncor Community Leisure Centre to take part in workshops and activities to celebrate Alberta Culture Days in the Wood Buffalo region from September 26 - October 3.

Wood Buffalo Mosaic Project Sept 27 - October 3
Beginning Saturday September 27 at noon, community members are invited to visit the Suncor Community Leisure Centre main concourse to have their photo taken for the Wood Buffalo Mosaic Project. This project, an ambitious effort to capture the images of 2,000 residents of the region, features the photo-mosaic talents of photojournalist Tim Van Horn. The finished project will create two 12’ by 5’ photo mosaics to be installed in Shell Place and the Anzac Recreation Centre presented by Nexen Energy, a CNOOC Limited company. Come on down and be part of history. Tim Van Horn will be taking photos Saturday, Sunday and Monday from Noon - 6:00pm in the main concourse at Suncor Community Leisure Centre.

Miquwahkesis Project Sept 27 - 29
On Saturday September 27 and Sunday September 28 community residents of all ages are invited to the Suncor Community Leisure Centre to explore the exciting Miquwahkesis Project through fox-themed workshops and a sneak peek at the artist-painted fibreglass foxes that will form the core of this new public art project to be installed on the TOTAL Interpretive Trail currently in development at MacDonald Island. Miquwahkesis means Red Fox in the Cree language and is the inspiration for this creative art workshop. Have fun making your fox art project while exploring some mixed-media and color. On September 29, this project moves to Fort Chipewyan.

Fort Mac Handcrafted Market
Shop for fun handmade items and accessories at the Fort Mac Handcrafted market which also doubles as a gallery where the public can explore what the vendors are crafting and creating in their homes. The market also offers three craft related interactive areas.
